Bayou Classic SP1 Jet Cooker Review
I have not used this cooker with a fish cooker sized-pot yet. It performs well in heating a 1.5 quart cast iron french fry cooker and for wok seasoning and wok cooking; having cooked fries, seasoned one wok, used for Asian meals numerous times. Obvious cons are the inefficiency when cooking in small pots (lowering heat causes loss of efficient blue flame and inefficient yellow flame existence), and the venturi produces a constant jet-like sound louder than an idle V8 engine. I have not yet installed a fuel monitoring device on the supply line to estimate the operating cost. Stainless steel hose is wonderful, ignore the finish burned off during operation, ignore the jet-sound, and enjoy cooking. 170,000+ BTU's rocks for Asian cooking.
